The Secret Behind PANAVIA™ V5
Kuraray Noritake applied a patent on the Original MDP Monomer in 1981. It was used in the first composite cement PANAVIA™ EX, which was launched in 1983. The Original MDP is able to bond strongly to tooth structures (e.g., dentin, enamel), metals (e.g., gold, silver, titanium, stainless, aluminum), metal oxides (e.g., zirconia, alumina), and composite resins that include inorganic fillers. Since then the Original MDP Monomer is used in all CLEARFIL™ adhesives and PANAVIA™ cements.
Bond Strength to Dentin
Dentin is one of the most difficult substrates to adhere to. We have faith in our product and decided to put several cements to a comparison test. In this way we could see how our golden standard self-etch adhesive CLEARFIL™ SE BOND performs. The results speak for themselves.
