From light to dark
Focus on brightness
Our intuitive shade concept is based on brightness. Because brightness determines 90% of every shade that is made up of the dimensions tint (hue), colour saturation (chroma) and brightness (value). So obviously, initially you would always want the correct brightness! What does the colour range of natural teeth look like around the world?
Results of a VITA™ study on colour range show that tooth colours deviate more in brightness than in tint or colour saturation. The natural difference in brightness is the reason for the ellipse-shaped distribution (see image).

Light Diffusion Technology
The connection between composite and nature
Light Diffusion Technology makes tint and colour saturation adjust automatically. When you have chosen the correct shade and thus the correct opacity, Light Diffusion Technology takes care of the finishing touch, as it adjusts the tint and colour saturation of the adjacent dental tissue.

Surprisingly, opacity is an underestimated factor for successful tooth-composite-integration. Without the right opacity, the restoration will not match. The new CLEARFIL MAJESTY™ ES-2 was designed with a predetermined enamel translucency and dentin opacity.

Clearfil Majesty ES-2 offers three different opacities. Premium Dentin has the highest opacity, followed by Classic. Premium Enamel obviously has the lowest opacity, or in other words, the highest translucency.
