KATANA™ AVENCIA™ Block is produced using our unique manufacturing method. The nano-sized fillers are densely compressed into a block, which is then uniformly impregnated with resin monomer. The resin is then polymerized by heat. Our new type of hybrid ceramic has great mechanical strength as well as excellent gloss retention.

Reliable adhesion for KATANA™ AVENCIA™
Reliable bonding of KATANA™ AVENCIA™ Block can be attained by using PANAVIA™ V5 or PANAVIA™ SA Cement Universal, which is the latest addition to our PANAVIA™ family.
We’ve put together a list of answers to the most pertinent questions.
Is it possible to mill KATANA™ AVENCIA™ Block in CEREC system (milling machine)?
There are 2 types of “KATANA™ AVENCIA™ Block”. “KATANA™ AVENCIA™ Block for Universal” can be milled in any open machine, such as DWX (Roland). In the case of “KATANA™ AVENCIA™ Block for CEREC”, it is exclusive for use in the CEREC system.
What cement do you recommend?
You can use any of our resin cements, including PANAVIA™ SA Cement Universal and PANAVIA™ V5.
What are the conditions for sandblasting?
It should be performed with blasting with alumina powder (30 to 50 μm) using air pressure of 1 to 2 bar (14-29 psi/0.1-0.2 MPa).
What is the advantage of this product over competing composite resin blocks?
Three big advantages are:
Easy polishing of the restoration surface and excellent gloss retention in the patient's mouth.
Excellent wear resistance and gentle to opposing tooth.
Higher flexural strength.
These characteristics are based on our innovative manufacturing process. First, the nano-sized fillers are densely compressed into a block, which is then uniformly impregnated with resin monomer. The resin is then polymerized by heating it. This way ensures high density fillers.

We recommend to use direct filling composites such as CLEARFIL MAJESTY™ ES-2 with CLEARFIL™ Ceramic Primer Plus.
