Deze patiënte wilde - uitsluitend om esthetische redenen - een reconstructie van haar kegelvormige laterale incisief (12). Aan de patiënte werd een behandeling aangeboden inclusief een eerste fase orthodontische behandeling om de nodige ruimte vrij te maken voor de reconstructie van de laterale snijtand in de ideale maatvoering. De patiënte weigerde echter om de orthodontische behandeling te ondergaan en daarom werd besloten om de tand met composiet te herstellen binnen de reeds beschikbare ruimte.

Als adhesief systeem werd CLEARFIL SE BOND 2 gebruikt, en de restauratie werd gerealiseerd met de nieuwe composiet CLEARFIL MAJESTY ES-2 Universal. Hoewel dit materiaal is ontwikkeld voor een singleshadetechniek met slechts twee kleuren die zijn afgestemd op de kleuren van de anterieure tanden, koos ik
voor een combinatie van beide pasta‘s om een optimaal resultaat te bereiken. De kleur UD (Universal Dark) werd gebruikt voor de reconstructie van het cervicale en centrale deel van de laterale snijtand; het incisale deel werd gerestaureerd met UL (Universal Light).

De keuze viel op de nieuwe CLEARFIL MAJESTY ES-2 Universal composiet met slechts twee kleuren voor het anterieure gebied. Deze zorgt voor een goede optische integratie dankzij de LichtDiffusieTechnologie van Kuraray Noritake Dental.

Kleurbepaling met behulp van uitgeharde proefstukjes CLEARFIL MAJESTY ES-2 Universal UL (Universal Light) en UD (Universal Dark) op de tandoppervlakken.

Isolatie met cofferdam.

Gebruik van CLEARFIL SE BOND 2 voor een sterke verbinding tussen de tandstructuur en de composiet.

EINDRESULTAAT
Ten aanzien van kleur en oppervlakteafwerking harmonieert de universele composiet mooi met de buurelementen.

Vereenvoudige posterieure restauratieprocedure zonder kleurbepaling

Efficiency is een belangrijke factor bij het restaureren van posterieure caviteiten. Dit kan bereikt worden door een materiaal te selecteren die kleurbepaling overbodig maakt. En een vereenvoudige layering techniek toe te passen. In onderstaande klinische casus past Dr Piotr Marchewka de single-shade techniek toe op een maxillaire eerste molar en een tweede premolaar. Hij gebruikt hiervoor CLEARFIL MAJESTY ES-2 Universal (U).

Aanvankelijke situatie. Vaststelling van cariëslaesies op de occlusale en palatale vlakken van de eerste molaar en het distale aspect van de tweede premolaar. Er werd rubberdam gebruikt voor vochtcontrole.

Dental photography as a valuable documentation aid

The main purpose of photography in dentistry is documentation. The aim is to collect as much information as possible under reproducible conditions. For this purpose, the camera used, its accessories and the format and lighting of the intra- and extra oral recordings relevant to dentistry must be standardized. Under standardized photographic conditions, the recordings made can be compared with one another, even if the later recordings are made only after a long period of time and by different photographers. Only in this form can dental photography be used as a valuable documentation aid. The standards described by Wolfgang Bengel in 1985 are still valid, but they have to be updated and adapted to technical innovations.

In this webinar, the current development in the field of dental photography and related areas will be briefly explained.

Zirconia, Oral scanner, feather edge preparation: the “winning triad”

Lang at the University of Bern in Switzerland, carrying out clinical and research activities. He obtained the title of "Doctor Medicinae Dentium" (D.M.D.) at the same University in 2000.
