The bonding system comprises a self-etching two-component primer and a two-component bonding agent. The mild self-etching bonding system forms a high quality hybrid layer. Yet it achieves optimal adhesion and at the same time prevents post-traumatic sensitivities.

During the commonly used etching procedure, the exposed collagen network collapses. This is one of the major problems in conventional total-etch bonding systems because it results in a decreased bonding strength. In contrast to this, CLEARFIL™ LINER BOND 2V is biocompatible with respect to the tooth tissue. Thanks to the mild etching and decalcification effect of the primer as well as its natural water content, the collagen fiber network retains its natural form and volume.
